New To Vintage
Rob has a desire to lead and facilitate people toward a personal and growing relationship in Jesus Christ. He was born and raised in New Orleans, but spent his high school and college years in South Carolina. While in college, Rob played college basketball and served as the Collegiate Minister @ FBC Spartanburg, where his father Dr. Don Wilton is pastor. After graduating from NGU in South Carolina, Rob and his wife (Annabeth) moved to New Orleans to begin the MDiv at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and he also worked as a Special Projects Representative with Upward. Although Hurricane Katrina temporarily removed them from New Orleans, they returned with their brother Greg as they began Ignite Mission. This ministry facilitated their speaking events and launched a prayer and worship movement in New Orleans among young adults. As Ignite Mission began Rob served as the Camp Pastor and Director of the Mission Lab program at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. At this position, he has spoken to thousands of youth, college, adult, and senior groups from around the country as they come for the great mission of the physical and spiritual rebirth of New Orleans. While Rob served as the Camp Pastor of Mission Lab, God called his family to plant a church in New Orleans. In January of 2008, Vintage Church was launched in Uptown. He loves serving as the Lead Pastor of Preaching and Vision.
Rob is married to Annabeth and they have three boys: Bolt, Mack and Birk. He enjoys exploring New Orleans with his family, playing basketball and golf, reading, traveling, and watching the New Orleans Saints while eating gumbo.
I first visited New Orleans the week before Katrina and moved here from Knoxville, TN in 2007 for graduate school. Not long after I moved, I fell in love with the culture, music, food, atmosphere and became one of the many post-Katrina transplants. I got connected with Vintage Church in the fall 2007, when we were still a small Bible study. This new plant was one of the avenues through which God called me to serve in this city.
I live Uptown with Sarah, my high school sweetheart and wife. We have desire to be used by God to help rebuild this city both physically and spiritually. I have the opportunity to serve as one of the pastors. I enjoy streetcar rides, new restaurants, live music, coffee shops, gelato and college football. I pray you would come hang out with us and get connect to what God is doing in and through our church family.
Jonathan has a desire to preach the Word of God for life change and facilitate growth through gospel multiplication. Originally from San Antonio, Texas Jonathan grew up playing football, which consumed his life until 2000 on a mission trip to Los Angeles where God captured his heart and called him to preach. After a short-lived college football career God moved Jonathan from Texas to Oklahoma while attending Oklahoma Baptist University Jonathan served as the Student Pastor at Eastland Hills BC in Choctaw, OK. After graduating Jonathan returned to San Antonio to pursue a preaching ministry and student pastor position at Castle Hills FBC. The journey in San Antonio was an incredible time of learning and growth for him that included meeting his wife (Amanda) and leading students on a mission trip to China but after three years in San Antonio God called Jonathan to New Orleans to obtain his MDIV at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. While in New Orleans, he and Amanda began their search for a church home after attending many churches they felt unsettled about them all; then the Lord lead them to Vintage Church. The heart of Vintage Church is to “live the Gospel, love the city, be the Church” and this could not be closer to the mission of the Griffin family. Jonathan is currently serving as the campus leader for the Metairie campus and cannot wait to see the day when the Metairie campus is joined by campuses across this city seeing lives changes by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jonathan is married Amanda and he enjoys spending time with his wife, participating in all outdoor activities, and watching college football in his spare time.
