Upcoming Opportunity: Ethiopia: Spring Break 2009

Jesus said to: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations!” He also states to the disciples, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Gospel from this point has advanced because of sacrifice. Those devoted to the faith sacrificed their time to bring the words of the Bible to certain languages, while others have sacrificed their lives in service to the Gospel. The Gospel will continue to advance through sacrifice, and Vintage Church is calling all who are available to sacrifice their time and finances to engage the country of Ethiopia with the Gospel.

Where We Will Go
Shashamene - Innovative has invested many teams and resources into this city. When the team goes, IMO’s Christian school will be meeting. We will spend time teaching English (ESL) there and doing evangelism in the city. If we have some medical personnel go we can also look at taking care of some minor medical needs. We will also attend a few of the churches in this village and be able to encourage national believers!

Asela - This is a city that remains unreached. We sent a team there this summer for a few days and saw some come to Christ. Our primary purpose in Asela would be evangelism through relationships and meeting medical needs if possible. Asela is named after a famous witch doctor and is a very dark city where witch craft is practiced openly.

About Innovative Mission Opportunities
We are partnering with a group called Innovative Mission Opportunities. Their mission goal is strictly to reach the unreached people groups of the 10/40 window on 7-8 short term trips a year.

Finances are typically an excuse why people decide not to go to another country, that is why we have a support letter already written up for you so that you can involve others in this mission effort. As a reminder, when considering foreign missions there are three types of people, those who are called to go, those who are called to stay and support, or the disobedient.
