I visited first visited New Orleans the week before Katrina and moved here from Knoxville, TN in 2007 for graduate school. Not long after I moved, I fell in love with the culture, music, food, atmosphere and became one of the many post-Katrina transplants. I got connected with Vintage Church in the fall 2007, when we were still a small Bible study. This new plant was one of the avenues through which God called me to serve in this city. I live Uptown with Sarah, my high school sweetheart and wife. We have desire to be used by God to help rebuild this city both physically and spiritually. I have the opportunity to serve as one of the pastors. I enjoy streetcar rides, new restaurants, live music, coffee shops, gelato and college football. I pray you would come hang out with us and get connect to what God is doing in and through our church family.
My wife Keeva and I moved here from Oklahoma where I was serving as a youth pastor after graduating from Northeaster State University with a communications degree. We felt God calling us to seminary in 2008, and after we got here, that call was defined more specifically to learning as we served in, lived in, and loved on New Orleans together. I’m not sure what my long term overall calling in ministry is specifically, I just know God has given me a passion to teach his truth and present the deeper points of it in understandable and practical ways to the church and the individuals God gives me an opportunity to walk with.
I was raised a New Orleanian and I love my city. As an Interior Designer, I am passionate about being creative in whatever I do. Now knowing that life only comes through Christ, I find that everything that I do for and with God (from the simple things in life such as running in Audubon Park to working on major projects) is the only way to fully experience life the way it was meant to be. Also, one of my passions and gifts is my love for people. We were created to love and be loved. Being that God is love, it is the most exciting thing ever to get to share His love with others!
