All of Scripture clearly shows that God’s people care for the needy, both physical and spiritual, within the local community. In responses to this truth, we as Vintage Church want to give of ourselves in whatever way God desires in order to see the Gospel advance in New Orleans.
Many churches do this by starting various ministries in order to meet needs. For example, one Community Group is passionate about feeding the hungry in their city so they start a food pantry. Another one starts a remodeling ministry and on and on it goes. All of these things are wonderful but here is the problem: spreading out the leaders, resources and man-power will exert maximum effort while achieving minimal impact.
So, at Vintage we have decided to flip this model of local missions on its head. Rather than spread everything out, we’re focusing! We are concentrating all our efforts on several strategic community outreach partners that are already meetings these needs in our city. Currently, Vintage is developing partnerships with several different organizations in the city of New Orleans. Think of it like this: “We do not want to create ministries, we want to actively do ministry.” Our goal is to continue to reach out to our city and proclaim the Gospel through partnerships that are making a difference.
